Job Summary:

Under general supervision, uses advanced skills gained through education and experience to support the department with handling incoming and outgoing wire transfers; work with various bank software and internal applications; participate in coordination of daily workflow, research and resolve problems, and perform other duties as assigned. Established procedures and general guidance and direction are provided to perform a variety of complex, non-routine tasks. Originality and ingenuity are required to locate, select and apply appropriate procedures, processes and techniques to assignments that are broad in nature. Resolves most questions and problems and refers new or unusual issues to a higher level. May serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues. Job requires limited decision making ability. Routine contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external clients.

  • Assigns debit account numbers for various client wires.

  • Enters and/or releases wires.

  • Coordinates processing of incoming wires by notifying the proper posting areas of their arrival.

  • Follows procedures with regard to Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) anti-money laundering guidelines.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves transfer delays and other wire related issues.

  • Researches assigned transaction and account discrepancies.

  • Coordinates with Reconciliations Team on research items.

  • Assists in maintaining policy and procedure manuals.

  • Gathers and compiles data for assigned functions.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • General office practices, procedures, and methods

  • Basic wire transfer practices and procedures.

  • Basic accounting concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Basic accrual based accounting practices.

  • PeopleSoft payroll system.

  • General ledger accounting software packages or ability to learn specific tasks.

Skill in:

  • Entering and reviewing transactions in multiple software platforms with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Gathering and compiling information.

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, electronic communication and maintain spreadsheets and databases. Entering transactions into an automated accounting system.

  • Analyzing basic transaction and account balance discrepancies.

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels.

  • Identify and resolve basic transaction problems.

  • Demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed transactional tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

  • Identify and resolve basic transaction problems.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of accounting support experience required.

or

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-Year College or technical school; and one (1) year related experience and/or training.

or

  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources.
